DIY Glass Painted Bottles Decoration-Recycling ideas

Bottle painting is a fun idea to recycle trash, Soft drink glass bottles are very common during summer season. So I enjoy glass painting & recycling these bottles. Today I will show you how to paint soft drink bottles & decorate with lace beads & rhinestones. I like the smell of glass paints, Do you? It’s similar to any nail polish actually! I know a few of my friends who are allergic to this smell & that’s the reason they are unable to work with glasspaints.

Everyone throw these glass bottles of soft drinks in the garbage but I keep a few just for recycling purpose! I wash it & saved. Even I broke one bottle, One is still at my craft table pinching me every time when I have a look at that as it’s a craft fail (during my independence day crafts)

See how I paint & decorate these bottles..

I painted two bottles in turquoise color & two in red, One in green too! single coat of glasspaint was good, (they usually get darker in color when dry totally) So within 15 minutes, they all were dry and ready to work with.

How To Paint :

– Get any color of glass paint.

– Keep the bottle upside down on a rough paper or newspaper etc.

– Use any flat brush for painting.

– Put your finger at the bottom of the bottle which is placed upside down, & paint it.

– It will be getting dry totally in 10 minutes, then place the bottle right & see if any side not painted well, So give touches there. You are done. bottle is ready to decorate now!

You will need to have scissor, transparent glue & some rhinestones laces. I cut the lace according to my design on the bottle. I cut some square shapes & strips of rhinestones lace, Then I use the transparent glue for pasting these shapes on bottles. As the lace was very light in weight so easily fixed.
