Why Your Drinking Water Is Funky or Foul
Water should be neutral—right? Not smelly or foul-tasting—but sometimes, through no fault of your own, might happen. That’s because there are lots of chemicals that can enter our water supply, and only a few of them are regulated. In fact, no regulations have changed in regards to those chemicals in water in almost 20 years.
There are lots of different smells that water can take on. For example, sulfur may be only when you’re using hot water and only when there’s an interaction with certain materials in the water rods. If smells start occurring, you have a couple of options. You can get your water supply inspected, or you can use a DIY water test. If your water isn’t dangerous, you may also be able to use filters.
