Valentine’s Day Craft ideas – Heart Shaped Box Decoration with Collage Clay

Hello girls, I hope you are having a great Friday. As February is here, I am seeing a lot of Valentine’s day gifts and crafts ideas on the blogs. Though I don’t celebrate Valentine’s day but seeing red and pink crafts makes me happy because they are my favourite colours. Today, I am going to share Valentine’s Day heart-shaped box decoration with collage clay. Last year in February, I got a PR package gift box from Stageline Cosmetics. I really liked their beauty products as well as this heart-shaped box. After a year now, I saw the box and thought to design it. Today you will see a step by step tutorial on how to design a plain ordinary box. Let’s see!

Valentine’s Day Heart Shaped Box Decoration with Collage Clay

I have decorated this box with collage clay. seashells, pearls and rhinestones. I also use some laces cut outs to cover the box. Would you like to see the BEFORE image? Have a look below:

So this was a plain brown card sheet box before.

Craft Supplies You Will Need:

Mod Podge Collage Clay

Seashells, beads, rhinestones, pearls

Applicator and scissors

Laces

A plain box

Hot glue gun

How To Make:

First, I started decorating box lid on top section. With the help of a spatula , I spread the pink clay on top. Try to make the paste application flat if possible, otherwise not an issue because we are going to fill the space with embellishments.

One by one fill the whole space with available little things. First I apply shells and later small beads-pearls.

Now you can see uneven space, as shells and pearls belong to beach so I want to make it look a bit seashore inspired. By using a bar b q stick, I give texture to the blank space. Isn’t it looking well?

Now look at the edges, they are not just uneven but also rough.

To cover these collage clay ends, here I am pasting rhinestones lace strips.

Can you spot some glue string? If you are crafty, you may know the real struggle with hot glue strings. I carefully removed these after pasting the laces.

For covering the box bottom, I am applying lace. After cutting out laces according to the size of the box, I simply paste it with a hot glue gun.

And it’s done. I like the brown color so keeping it as it is. If you want to color the box, you may spray paint or use acrylics paints. Now embellishment is done.
