DIY Mirror Decor | Easy Art Ideas using Seashells
I decorate the backside of my mirror with a few shells and scrapbook sheet paper. I hope you will like my DIY Mirror Decor | Easy Art Ideas using Seashells.
A few weeks back I got a bunch of seashells from a dollar store. I decided to craft something with these seashells but was not sure what to try with them. I have already decorated a hair comb with these in past, used these seashells in gel wax candles, and also for decorating a mirror with seashells and stones. Here today, I decorate the backside of my mirror with a few shells and scrapbook sheet paper. I hope you will like my DIY Mirror Decor | Easy Art Ideas using Seashells.
This is the final look of the mirror which I just decorated. The front side is still a looking mirror but I decorated the backside only. How is it looking after this makeover? This is a vanity table standing mirror actually, but after this little vintage touch of décor, this can be used as a shelf décor item too. (in case the mirror from its backside gets cracked)
DIY Mirror Decor | Easy Art Ideas using Seashells
For decorating this backside of the mirror, you will need these craft supplies only:
Seashells – preferably small sized
Hot glue gun
Scissors
Pearl or rhinestones
Scrapbook sheet or decoupage paper
How To Make & Decorate
Clean the seashells & make sure they are dried properly before starting any work.
Measure the scrapbook sheet according to the size of mirror blank space.
This is how you will get the idea about the size. Roughly cut the sheet and then see if it is as per the size of your mirror.
Cut the excessive paper and fix it well.
With the help of hot glue gun, paste the sheet on mirror.
Now carefully start pasting the shells to experience one of the easy art ideas using seashells.
Almost there! I also paste two pearl beads on the top & bottom hole in its design.
Can you see the difference now? Looks cute, right?
As it was a fixable standing mirror, so before starting the décor work, I separated the oval-shaped part from the standing mirror. It was easier to design this way.
I had many other ideas in my mind to decorate it but as it’s a moving side mirror so if there will be some weight on one side, the other side will be disturbed due to an imbalance of weight. So we need to keep the balance here by sing light in weight things.
Here is the collage image of the tutorial, I will appreciate it if you will share it on your Pinterest before leaving the blog post :)
