Have you ever tried making any customized birthday cards for your family or friends? believe me it’s so much fun customizing greeting cards for someone’s birthday or other big days. I made this birthday card for a friend’s colleague. This handmade birthday card making in mixed media style is an easy card making idea. I will show you today about it’s making.

There is not step by step tutorial today but I will be explaining the whole process below. Actually I made it on urgent basis. So while working on a short notice, I skipped taking pictures of the making process. It was around 9 pm when I got a text from a friend who was searching handmade customized cards online. While browsing the Google, she saw my handmade cards images and my website. So when she requested me for the favor of making a card on urgent basis, I couldn’t refuse as She is a good friend. Have a look at what I have crafted for her.

This birthday card was for Fizza who loves travelling. She is fun loving and planning to visit abroad for her honeymoon trip. I customize it with travel destinations theme that’s why.

There are two panels of the card while opening. I used mixed stuff for designing it.Here is the list of products I have used for making this card. You will need these crafty goodies for making a similar card.

White card sheet – 20″ long and 10″ wide.

Glitter foamic sheet – cut it into chunks.

Travel themed scrapbook sheets paper.

Burlap fabric for flower cut our piece.

Washi Tape – Glitter and paper both.

Doily paper and foamic butterfly.

Rhinestones and pearls.

Acrylic paints for spray texture.

Mod Podge or transparent glue.

Scissors and paper cutter.

How To Make:

First I gave texture on the sheet with acrylic paints spray. Then I wrote Fizza on front panel of the card and filled it with glitter foamic sheet sticker chunks. On the second panel, I pasted a scrapbook sheet and some text words like Family, Dream Big, Happiness.

I cut a burlap fabric in flower shape and pasted it in the middle of both panels. Measure the middle and cut it carefully. Then apply some rhinestones on it. I also outline it with marker color.

Looks like a lot of craft supplies? well I found all of those in my crafty stash where I have a lot of thingies for embellishing any paper craft. I made this card at night and there was no time to visit the market for buying new supplies.

For the inside, I apply some washi tapes after the spray textures. I use “Happy Birthday” printed washi tape here. This middle square pink sheet is overlapped with scrapbook sheet. In the middle, I paste a pink doily along with a glitter foamic butterfly.

For the side panels, I have used these scrapbook strips, these are flip-able as well. Decorated with washi tape and foamic butterflies again.

I left some space empty for writing text on it. There is some blank space under these butterflies strip cards as well.
