How To Make Sunburst Wall Art for Fall Home Decoration

Sunburst mirrors & wall arts are always looking pretty. They are not much difficult to DIY as well. If you are reading my blog for some years, You might remember one of my fun idea about recycling some plastic spoons & making a mirror. It was appreciated a lot by my dear creative readers. Recently I tried something interesting with an ordinary product. I hope you will like this idea. While searching something in my kitchen cabinet, I found a bunch of some Bar-B-Q sticks. Do you know where the light blinks? Hehe, an idea came into my mind & today I am going to share How To Make Sunburst Wall Art for Fall Home Decoration.

How To Make Sunburst Wall Art for Fall Home Decoration

Craft Supplies :

Bar-B-Q Sticks 100 atleast. (You can find in the kitchen otherwise buy from any grocery store)

Hot Glue Gun

Card circles cut outs & paper doily

Some decorative stuff to embellish the wall art.

One important thing is a paper clip which you will use to hang your wall art.

I already had these silver circles cut outs from some scrap stuff. I paste the sticks on it with a good amount of hot glue. Don’t care about glue gun strings. There will be many while sticking these on it but you will easily remove the strings when it’s done.

Follow the process as I am showing in the first image, this is how you will arrange the sticks step by step.

As in the third image you can see one side of the silver disk filled with sticks. Now turn it back & start pasting sticks on the other side now.

Both sides of the silver disk are covered now with sticks. There is no more space to fix Bar-B-Q sticks on it. You can see many glue strings here as well.

Let’s cover the space with a card cut out pieces. I paste a yellow paper doily on it to cover the card stuff.

Here is the back side of wall art. I am using a matel paper clip as a hook. THIS WALL ART IS VERY LIGHT IN WEIGHT. Hanging with a paper clip is totally fine. Be sure to stick it well with glue.

Now it’s time to stick some plastic mirror charms on it. You can use any light weight decorative item. If you will try to paste something heavy, there is a chance of these sticks dropping off because of weight.

After completing the wall art, I was not sure where to hang it & take a proper picture because almost all of the walls at my place are in white or off-white paint color. As the color of sticks is light skin color, so it was not prominent on any wall. Only my craftroom wall was pink but there is no proper space to hang it on. But for taking just a pic, it’s fine though. Right?

Solution!!

How To Make Sunburst Wall Art for Fall Home Decoration

I decided to paint it in black color then. So it will be simply prominent on any wall color. Looks better?

First, I removed plastic mirror pieces carefully. Then I place this wall art on a newspaper & with spray paint I paint it black.

Stick the plastic mirror charm pieces again & be sure to remove glue gun strings this time too.

And it’s ready! Isn’t it a fun idea? You have seen many sunburst mirrors with exclusive details but this one is super simple yet easy to make. I bet if you will try this one, You will be able to make some more variation in design & decor.
