DIY Anthro Inspired Necklace
Hi girls, today I am excited to share one of the easiest version of an expensive bib necklace. A few days back I installed Anthropologie app in my iPad, I really enjoyed their cool products and accessories specially. While browsing there, I saw this Leather Amrita Bib necklace but its price was simply shocking to see $298 seriously!! I thought why not to try this beautiful necklace with a touch of my own style and colors. I did it finally and my version is not looking bad as well. It’s a very easy & reasonable version of anthros knockoff. I hope you will like this accessory DIY. I enjoyed making different NECKLACES & the making is always fun. You can see tutorials of all these in my previous posts. First have a look at my today’s blog post.
DIY Anthro Inspired Necklace
I am always a fan of black color when it comes to dressing and accessories. So that’s why I choose black leather for making this necklace. This leather was given to me once by a dear aunt actually.
Here above you can see the anthro’s original necklace..
Here it is how I have designed my version of the bib necklace. I used rhinestones in my necklace, instead of metal studs.
For making this bib necklace, you will need leather fabric, sharp scissors, rhinestones, glue with needle and thread. For attaching the flowers on the necklace, you will need a metal chain only.
For making this necklace, you need to cut some flower shape cut outs in different sizes. Then some circle cut outs in different sizes for the middle part of flower.
All you need to do is just make lots of leather cuttings & shaping these in flowers. I prefer rough and raw look for the flowers shape.
Place the big flower first and then fix smaller layers on it. With the help of needle and thread, arrange all flowers on a leather strap. In the end, you will attach the chain with this leather strap.
I used needle & thread for fixing all layers together, but the rhinestones are nicely fixed with transparent glue.
I stitch a thick strip of the same leather & then attached the metal chain with needle & thread. that’s it. See the back side of bib necklace.
Done it. Paste the flowers/rosettes at that strip, or use needle and thread again. These are light weighted flowers not a heavy bib necklace!
